Jesus To Proclaim

In my work as an Associational Missionary I am often approached about new work/new church starts. Unfortunately, many of these new works have been church splits. It would be wonderful if congregations could realize their differences in a more positive way and discover ways for a healthy way to birth new congregations. Nonetheless, when we sit down to talk of the new work I often say, "I can work with you as long as you are not an anti-whomever baptist church but a proclaiming Jesus church."

I think that's what I want to say in this posting - WE HAVE JESUS TO PROCLAIM. This is the message a lost and dying world needs to hear. We can be anti-this and anti-that. We can work hard to achieve power and prestige in our work - and in the denomination. We can acquire award after award for whatever, BUT OUR TASK IS TO PROCLAIM JESUS TO A LOST AND DYING WORLD!

During my recovery from two surgeries this summer I have had opportunity to read through Baptist Papers. I have read through numerous blogs. I have watched Court TVs, Dr. Phil's type shows - I even discovered some of the soap operas were "tamer" than the talk shows. I watched a few of the religious broadcasts. I began to be reminded of something important - THE WORLD AROUND US NEEDS JESUS PREACHED AND LIVED BEFORE THEM. They need His message of Hope, Help, Love, Forgiveness, Salvation, etc. proclaimed.

Unfortunately, there are few venues where Jesus is proclaimed. We can not expect it to be proclaimed by those of the world. Our judicial system will not deliver such a message (TV Court or regular court. The "soaps" and the advice shows offer perversions of truth and false messages about solutions to what ails people's lives. Unfortunately, most blogs do not proclaim Jesus and - even if they do proclaim Christ and not personal opinion and agenda, they are to a narrow market. Even religious broadcasting has major time slots filled with perversions of truth and false messages about solutions to what ails people's lives just like secular braodcasting.

You and I are called of God to proclaim His message of Hope, Help, Deliverance, and Salvation. We are called to PROCLAIM JESUS. It is my prayer today that we will rededicate ourselves to the task before us - to proclaim Christ to those around us. And that we will strive daily to live Jesus before our fellowman so that they will see Christ living in and through us.

Proclaim His Truth. The Word has promised that if He will be lifted up, that He will draw the people unto Himself. LIFT HIM UP MY CO-LABORERS IN MINISTRY and rest assured that the proclamation of the Living Christ will not come back void!
